REMEMBERING BURNS

(Robert Burns 1759-1796)

Man’s inhumanity to man;

Makes countless thousands mourn

The timeless words are Robert Burns,

The Scottish social thorn.

His statue stands in Fredericton,

The hope of Clearance Scots,

His words describe how everyone,

Is hurt by power plots.

The Statue watches government;

While food banks feed the poor;

Supporting corporate management,

With money laws and war.

Disarm this world and feed the poor;

We can’t afford the poor and war.
