For blocks, some lined up, some got in by stealth.

They jumped the line by taking off the roof

put the paralytic right at Jesus’ feet,

didn’t wait for hours out on the street

Jesus took their intensity as proof.

Forgave his sin, healed his paralysis

(it was the same, the symptom and the cause

or so they thought). The scribes; it gave them pause -

Only God forgives, by their analysis.

But God was there, the holy hands reached out.

Free from sin and sickness; that’s what God’s about!
