An Imperfect Life poetry by Fr. Harold Macdonald |

God is the disconcerting fear and hope - “An elephant is standing in the room!” Four tree trunks are no proof, says David Hume; nor shaking nor being stomped upon. No Pope can make it so, establish as a fact that it’s not an ancient brontosaurus. We can’t connect the dots, too few for us a remote hypothesis, to be exact. So here’s the rub; a God Who’s worth the salt - the Maker - to each and every thing some partial and suggestive pattern, brings; lays hands on each contingent strength and fault. Clues? Unless God clarifies, we’ll never know Who or what it is; Naught? or Friend? or Foe?
