Canon Jim Irvine

Welcome to the Highland Shepherd.

It will soon be hosted at www.msgr.ca

The traffic on my web site hosted by Rogers.com finally exceeded my monthly traffic allowance of 300 MG on October 17, 2003.  On that date it was closed until November 1.  To date, the site has had over 48,000 visitors.  I had to register a domain name with a web hosting site allowing for greater traffic.  The 5,000+ files (comprising 62 MG) on-line now need to be relocated and all hyperlinks corrected accordingly.

Rogers indicated that traffic patterns reflect active traffic touching on all aspects of the Highland Shepherd site.  Consequently, I did not feel I could simply eliminate blocks of material.  A move was demanded.

This move will take place over the next few months - quite likely more than a few months - with material revised and relocated in a seasonal and thematic way.  This will be done incrementally.  Of course, the sooner this is accomplished, the less likelihood the web page will be shut down again.

This move will enable me to post 100 MG of on-line material with little fear that the site will face closure again.  Some material will remain with Rogers.com until such time it is transferred over to www.msgr.ca.

I would be grateful if you would indicate that you have visited the site so that I can have some measure of demand warranting the increase of my additional cost in providing this ministry.  Please let me know by emailing me at msgr@msgr.ca.

This is not a solicitation.  I only want to know the breadth of this effort.  Since this is an unabashed religious site I am surprised that it got enough traffic in 17 days to be shut down!  There is no mention of pornography or Viagara™ on any of these pages - so you can imagine my surprise!
