About the Author

Sr. Mary Catharina lives in a monastery of Discalced Carmelite nuns in Loughrea, Co. Galway. She started writing poetry while living the full Carmelite life some years ago.

The Carmelite nun’s life is carefully balanced between prayer, silence, retirement, spiritual reading, work, penance, community life and recreation.

It combines the eremitic with the coenibitic life. St. Theresa wished her nuns to be praying communities who would plead with God for the welfare of the church, especially for priests and defenders of the church.

St. Therese of the Child Jesus lived this life with great fidelity and became known as the greatest saint of modern times.  She gave the world her Little Way, which is the way of total trust in God's Merciful Love.
