Launch out into the Deep
Based on “Duc in Altum” Pope John Paul II
And there was I gazing out into the deep. If only, yes, if only, if only I could let go and take that dive. And then survive? Oh yes, then it must be for God and all humanity.
I feel that he is calling me, e’en when I’m far away. But the joys of life are numberless, why throw them all away? When I kneel in silent prayer, e’en though for a moment it be, the peace that flows into my soul draws me, Lord, closer to Thee.
Not yet, dear Lord, not just yet, please give me another day. I need to straighten out my path, and then decide which way. Lord, will I ever be ready to launch out into the deep. I feel you dragging at my heart, but your way seems very steep.
The years pass by, they fly away. Why delay? The poor, the suffering, the marginalized, they need someone with enterprise. Someone to say the beads for them, to sow the seeds for them. Why hesitate? ‘twill be too late. Just launch out into the deep.
I heard him call, “Open your soul and grace will fall, BE NOT AFRAID”. I heard the call, and then, I launched out into the deepest depths, for God, for the church, for all.
Yes, dear friend, I took the dive, and now with Him, I am alive forever.
