Lent in Bygone Days
And there we were at the morning meal with just a heel of brown.
T’was Lent. Repent, He said, the kingdom of God is at hand. In our Land? Yes, in our very land. But first the appetite to whet but don’t fret the kingdom is at hand.
So let us stand and break the bread. Blood for sinner’s shed.
Repent, He said the kingdom of God is at hand.
