Glimpses of Heaven on Earth

A gilded cloud

Ahiding the sun.

A rainbow shroud

embracing each one.

The Covenant signed

between God and mankind.

The Milky Way

With stars all astray,

Shining, twinkling.

His glorious array.

A linnet high in a tree,

Chanting so beautifully.

Water resounding

Silence unsounding.

The chanting of psalms

In a monastery choir,

accompanied by the strains

of a gentle lyre.

The sheep they graze

all the day long.

That is their song

of praise to God.

In mists obscure,

mysteries divine

begin to shine.

Innocent eyes

reveal Paradise.

In his presence

Gaze deep

Maybe God will give

you a peep.

Gratitude fills the soul

with peace,

never to cease.

Look, look,

A beautiful golden

buttercup.

Let us sup of its delights.

A cobweb woven in

early morn

laden with diamond dew.

All for me and you.

These glimpses of heaven

pierce through the skies,

His eternal Love in disguise,

Revealing the glory of God.
