This is what you have to do…

Break eggs into ¼ cup cold water. Mix butter and sugar, add flour, beaten eggs, and all other ingredients, add flour as needed until spoon stands upright, then bake at 325 until done (check after 45 minutes).

Remove from oven and pour a little rum on cake.

Christmas 2008

Dark Fruitcake

1 pkt      soft butter

16 oz     brown sugar

14          eggs

2 tbsp    cinnamon

           whole grated nutmeg

2 tbsp    vanilla essence

1            orange peel citron (100 g)

2 tbsp    baking powder

2 cups   flour

              Gravy browning (to darken cake)

1 lb        each of raisins, currants, prunes, minced                   and soaked and aged in stout
