OUTSIDE THE BANK...
THE BAPTISTS CRY
Outside the bank the Baptists cry,
And give their tracts to passers-by;
They voice their faith in God above,
Who sent his Son for us to love.
Come join our throng, they press their case.
We worship plainly, without lace;
Communion? Yes, with little cups
Of purest grape juice you may sup.
No Mass, no Benediction rite,
Nor infant christ’ning -
’tis not right;
No incense fills the church's air,
But hymns sung loudly without care.
Yet now the Christian year turns yet again,
And we are told the message plain:
That though we differ in our ways,
We all sing Advent hymns of praise!
